I am committed to helping you to achieve optimal health and wellbeing throughout your lifespan. From wellness coaching, to yoga and pilates I can support you to make positive lifestyle changes that will support you not only in the present but also in the future.
For me optimal health and wellbeing is not just about reducing the risks of illness and disease, it’s about proactively supporting you to take steps to lead a more fulfilling and enjoyable life whatever your age. This means not only thinking about physical fitness and diet, but also giving consideration to other areas such as mental and social wellbeing, relationships, career, home environment and general wellness.

Wellness Coaching
There are many reasons why you might consider a Wellness Coach. You could be looking for support and advice to make changes to your diet, improve your sleep or reduce stress. You might be experiencing hormonal changes, suffering from recurrent bouts of being unwell or recovering from an illness and looking to optimise your recovery. The list is endless. Whatever your reasons for seeking out a Wellness Coach I can help. I can work with you to create real change in every aspect of your life. I look at every aspect of your life to see where adjustments can be made to help optimise your health.
Classes
Pilates
Currently this is only available 1:1
I follow the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute (APPI) approach to pilates. This method has been developed by experienced physiotherapists and uses modifications of Joseph Pilates’ original programme. He believed it was important to develop a strong core, to support exercise rehabilitation. The approach focuses on strengthening the core, improving alignment and developing postural awareness. Physiotherapy led pilates is low impact and a safe and effective form of exercise. It can help to restore good posture, improve mood, build body strength, improve flexibility and reduce stress. It is good for re-setting your body and has been successfully used to support people coming back from injury or illness.
Yoga
Currently this is only available 1:1
There are many different styles of yoga. I draw on a number of these including Vinysa Flow, Hatha and Restorative Yoga. Poses are either delivered in a flowing sequence or held for longer to really encourage the mind to focus. Yoga is beneficial for any age and can support emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Practicing yoga can help improve flexibility, balance, muscle tone and endurance. Combining different asanas (postures) and the pranayama (breath), can help you to gain stillness and be present in the moment. When practiced mindfully yoga can help you to tune it and listen to what your body needs, and support your vitality and wellbeing.
Pre and Post Natal Pilates
Currently this is only available 1:1
During pregnancy the body goes through many changes, these include changes to heart rate, fluid volumes and hormones. Taking part in gentle exercise in the pre and post natal period is important not only for you but also your developing baby. Regular pilates during pregnancy offers a number of benefits, including helping to protect against lower back pain and other musculoskeletal discomfort, supporting sleep and relaxation, maintaining good pelvic health and aiding recovery following the birth.

My name is Bernadette. I am a qualified Physiotherapist, Health Coach and Yoga and Pilates instructor.
I came to Health Coaching through my work as a physiotherapist in the NHS. Over the years I’ve come across lots of people who want to make sustainable changes to their health and wellbeing but are unsure of how to go about it, where to go for advice and how to implement change. Working as a Health Coach gives me the opportunity to support people to take control of their own health and wellbeing, and empower them to make lasting change as they work towards their goals.

Using a range of specialist coaching tools and techniques I work with you to help identify key areas for change, and set realistic goals that can be easily achieved and sustained. I help you to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to take ownership of managing your own health and wellbeing. All sessions are individually tailored. I don’t take a one size fits all approach because I recognise that everyone is different and has different goals in life. Whatever your reason for seeking out a health coach taking that first step is important because it shows a commitment to improving your wellness.
All sessions are conducted virtually so sessions can be done at a time that fits in with your routine and life. Sessions can be delivered over Zoom, FaceTime, Skype or Whatsapp.
We set meaningful personalised goals with clear action steps to help you start a new and positive journey to managing your own wellness.
Everything we discuss is treated with confidentiality. It is important that you are able to have open conversations without any judgement to get the best out of the process
